I´m working my way towards putting together a fantasy themed graphic novel. Most of what I do right now is giving my world and my character designs colour, often combining it with different kinds of exercises to improve my skills. I really haven´t worked in colour for a long, long time so training will be a main focus for a while. I will most likely be working with watercolours/gouache but I´m also trying out markers. Originally I wanted to work digitally but my eyes couldn´t really handle me staring that focused at a computer screen(games and movies are usually fine though).
I look to old masters of watercolour, such as Dulac and Bilbin for inspiration and to learn. Also important are contemporary comic book artists like Mark smylie, Park Joong-ki, Kentaro Miura and Hiroaki Samura who if not always at least to some degree use watercolour. I also of course look to the many excellent artists on this site.
Hope you like my stuff.
